What parents want to know

Before you choose a Spanish program

SparkLlama resources are built on a pedagogical structure that is the result of more than two years of work by Teacher Claudia D. One of its key principles: children can take part from day one by listening, pointing and choosing, before they’re ready to speak.

Can I use it if I don’t speak Spanish?

Yes. Native audio does the speaking, and every guide is in English and Spanish, so you never have to improvise.

Is the Spanish accurate?

Yes. Resources are designed by a native Spanish teacher with a background in Literature, and every recording is reviewed before it’s published.

Will my child enjoy it?

It’s designed to be enjoyed. Children listen to stories, play short games, use printables and bring Spanish into real moments at home or in class. Pointing counts as an answer, so they take part without pressure, understanding first and speaking when they’re ready.

Is it just more screen time?

No. Audio and games lead into printables and real play at home or in class, so Spanish moves off the screen and into the day.

From the founder

Designed by a Spanish teacher

I’m Claudia de la Roche, known to families as Teacher Claudia D. I studied Literature at the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and have taught Spanish from elementary classrooms to adult learners, in school settings and in bilingual homeschooling. I founded SparkLlama to make Spanish feel possible at home and in class, even when the adult teaching doesn’t speak Spanish.
