Inside Buscamos en Casa

What your child learns — and why

Buscamos en Casa is the “find it” adventure of Family Path. It’s built around one small, powerful question your child will hear again and again: «¿Dónde está…?» — Where is…?

What your child learns

  • The main goal: understand «¿Dónde está…?» and find the object that’s named.
  • Six everyday words inside a small story: el libro, el cojín, la manta, la pelota, el vaso, el agua.
  • A model answer to use when ready: «Aquí está» — Here it is.
  • The same object, anywhere: in a new picture, a new place and in your own home.
  • Taking turns: your child asks, you search.

Why it’s designed this way

  • Understanding comes first. Children understand long before they speak, so pointing counts as an answer. Speaking is invited, never forced.
  • Words with a purpose. In the story we look for things to read, to play and to have a drink — words are used to do something, not memorized as a list.
  • One question, endless uses. Once «¿Dónde está…?» clicks, it works with anything in your home or classroom.
  • Variety, not drills. Meeting the same object in different pictures and places helps children learn the word — not just one image.
  • From screen to real life. Every adventure ends with a real search, off screen.

Not the goal here, on purpose: colors, numbers, reading or grammar rules. Each adventure focuses on one way to communicate, so your child isn’t asked to juggle everything at once.

Six adventures that complement each other

Each adventure adds a different way to communicate, and the words travel between them: the ball your child finds here can be the ball they ask for in Choose & Share or describe in Look & Describe.

Questions parents and teachers ask

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No. The adventure is in Spanish with native audio, and the grown-up guide inside the app is in English and Spanish — you can play along even if you’re learning too.

What ages is it for?

Buscamos en Casa is designed for children around 5 to 7, played with a grown-up. No reading is needed. The age range guides tone and usability; it isn’t a strict limit.

Is it really free?

Yes. The app and its grown-up guide are free to play, with no sign-up. The 10-page activity book and the Family Path guide are free too.

Does it collect any data about my child?

No. There are no child accounts, no scores and no data collected while you play.

Can I use it in class?

Yes. It works on a projector or screen with small groups — children point, choose and answer together.

Is it part of a bigger program?

Yes. It’s the first adventure of Family Path, a flexible path of everyday Spanish. See how Spanish Pathways is organized.

Is anything shipped to my home?

No. Everything is digital: the app plays in your browser and the printables are PDFs you print at home.
