What makes Family Path different
Spanish you use together — not a course to get through
Family Path is a flexible path of everyday Spanish through stories, play and real interaction. It teaches — just in a different way than a step-by-step reading program.
Family Path is…
- Built around real moments. Every adventure has a purpose: find, choose, ask, plan or tell.
- Flexible. Start with any adventure — each one works on its own and connects with the others.
- Understanding first. Kids can look, point, choose, act or speak. Every way of taking part counts.
- Spanish for the child, support for the grown-up. The adventure is in Spanish; the guide is in English and Spanish.
- Respectful of your family’s Spanish. The Spanish spoken at home is a resource, whatever variety you speak.
It isn’t…
- A cut-down school curriculum.
- A reading and writing course — reading is shared, never required.
- A test: no scores, no child accounts, no data about your child.
- A promise of fluency in a set number of weeks. Every child moves at their own pace.

Questions families and teachers ask
Is Spanish Pathways a curriculum?
No. It’s a flexible path of everyday Spanish through stories, play and real interaction — a complement to whatever else you use. It doesn’t teach reading step by step; reading is shared, never required.
Looking for a step-by-step program?
Our SparkLlama Spanish curriculum — a reading and writing program with original stories, leveled readers and a clear syllable-by-syllable sequence — is coming soon. Join the list to hear first →
Do the adventures have to go in order?
No. Each adventure works on its own, so you can start with any one. The four worlds help you see how the language grows, but there’s no fixed sequence.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No. The adventures are in Spanish with native audio, and every grown-up guide is in English and Spanish — so you can play along even if you’re learning too.
We already speak Spanish at home. Is it for us?
Yes. Bilingual and heritage families use it to give children everyday reasons to use the Spanish they already understand. The Spanish spoken in your home — whatever variety — is a resource.
Can I use it in class?
Yes. The adventures work on a projector or screen with small groups, and the free guide explains how to use them at home or in class. Get the Free guide Here →
What ages is it for?
Family Path is designed for children around 5 to 7, played with a grown-up. The age range guides tone and usability; it isn’t a strict limit.
